The writing bug nabbed me when I was in second grade. Since then, expressing my thoughts on paper has been a constant part of my life, through poetry, songs, teaching and creating stories.
A reading teacher for many years, I shared my love of reading and writing with my students, their parents and fellow teachers. Now I'm retired from teaching and am realizing my dream: I am a full-time writer! My inspiration is the authors whose books hold me hostage into the wee hours: C. J. Box, William Kent Krueger, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, Ruth Ware, Anne Hillerman . . . My driving forces are the need to share my experiences and the joy inherent in creating tales with words.
One of my favorite activities is people watching. Others are genealogy and family history research and exploring history and culture in my travels. I thrive on ongoing learning and opportunities to experience new things. Gardening and walking are my "sorting through the muddle" venues. I treasure time with family and friends. Music, dancing, theater, cooking, a good movie, a scenic hike and prowling antique markets are also on my list of pleasurable pastimes.
